Painting Watermelons

 On Monday we painted watermelons.  First, we painted the green part...

 ...then we painted the red part.

Last, we painted the seeds with black paint.

Our Food Graph: what part of the plant we eat!

 We chose our favorite food to put on the graph.

 We put our pictures on the graph under the food we liked.

 I like the corn!

 I like corn too!

 My favorite is broccoli.

 I like broccoli too!!

The all time favorite was corn: 11 children chose it!!

What Parts of the Plant Do You Eat?

 We reviewed the parts of the plant during circle time.

 What part of the plant is this?

 We eat roots, stems, seeds, flowers and leaves.

 The potato is a root.

 Cauliflower and broccoli are flowers.

 Beans are seeds.

 I'm not sure about the celery...

 The carrot is a root.

 The aspargus is a stem.

 Lettuce is a leaf.

The flower looked very nice when we finished sorting all the food.  Now it's time to draw in our journals!!
