Following The Nile to the Sea

The Nile starts in Uganda, flows through Sudan and Egypt before it reaches the sea.
Our Nile started in Ms. Alison's classroom which was Uganda.
It passed through the G-3A, our classroom and went out into the hallway which was Egypt and ended at the door to the office.
 The office is the ocean!

Following the Nile back to its source: Uganda (the G-3 B classroom)!

Map of Egypt

In Ms. Eli's group we spread glue on the map.

Threw sand on it to make the deser.
And then painted the Nile blue and its banks green.
Ms. Eli puts the glue for us and we spread it.

Sally the Camel Has 5 Humps

With Ms. Munne we sang Sally the Camel and put its humps in order 1 to 5 on the flannelboard.

We then traced the numbers and cut them.

When we were done, we glued the humps on Sally and colored it.

The Nile is a Long, Long River

Ms. Larissa talked about the Nile: it is in Egypt and it is the longest river in the world.
She showed us Egypt on the globe.
We then looked at books and pictures of Egypt.

Ms. Larissa then reminded us of long and short and told us to try to make long lines with the unifix cubes.
 We worked in pairs.

Matheus, Bernardo and Bia Gomes worked on a very, very long L!

Carol and Lisa made an interesting line; it was very long.
Afterwards, we painted strips of paper blue that we will use to "build" a Nile on Friday.
