Patterns, Patterns, Dinosaur Patterns

In  Ms. Munne's group she read little books on Patterns; then we made a pattern with dinosaurs on the flannelboard and last we used dinosaur stamps to make a pattern on paper.  We got lots of practice creating and following patterns in this group!

The Big Badaboom Puppet Show

When we came in from the story time outside, Ms. Munne had prepared a puppet show for us!  She told the story of how the dinosaurs died in the big explosion (the big badaboom) caused by the asteroid that hit the earth 65 million years ago.  After the meteor hit, a cloud of dust and ashes covered the atmosphere, volcanoes began erupting and contributed to the ash cloud, giant
earthquakes and tsunamis hit various regions of the earth killing even more dinosaurs.  One year after the impact all the dinosaurs in the world had died out.  The only species to survive were turtles, some crocodiles, sharks, fish and some small mammals.

Story Time Outside

Monday, April 16th Ms. Liza read a story outside while Ms. Munne  prepared a surprise for us.

Painting Dinosaurs

In Ms. Eli's group we chose a dinosaur to paint.  When they dried we stuffed them with paper ball.s

Dinosaur Little Book

In Miss Larissa's group we "read" the Dinosaur Book together, then we colored and cut the book and last, we assembled it "reading" it once more individually.

Sculpting My Favorite Dinosaur

In  Ms. Munne's group we chose our favorite dinosaur to make a sculpture.  We put the toy dinosaur in front of us and then we tried to make a sculpture with playdough.  When we finished we told Ms. Munne what features (body parts) we had put in our sculpture and what dinosaur it was.  The dino sculptures were really interesting!
