The Dog Is a Mammal

With Ms. Eli we ripped suede paper to cover a dog cut-out.
We picked the colors of the dog: white, black or brown.  Bela and Gigi both picked white.
After ripping the suede paper we glued it on our dog cut-outs.

Animal Graph

In Ms. Larissa's group we counted animals.

Afterwards, in pairs, we glued the corresponding number of squares onto the graph.  Ms. Larissa helped us.

My Favorite Mammal

We picked our favorite mammal and drew it in our journal.
My favorite mammal is the lion.

We picked the toy and put it in front of us so we could draw it.
Lisa did a great job with her rhinoceros.

Classifying Reptiles, Amphibians, Birds and Mammals

Ms. Munne talked about the characteristics of mammals and which animal are mammals.  She used the poster to help us understand.  She also reminded us of the other group of animals which we already studied, reptiles, amphibians and birds.

We then picked an animal and had to place it next to the poster of its group: reptile, amphibian, bird or mammal.

We couln't look, we had to pick the animal without looking: it was a surprise!
We examined the animal and put it in the chair of its group.
If we didn't know, our friends could help us.

Bunnies in School

Bia Gomes brought her bunnies to school.
The children were all very excited about having the bunnies in the classroom.
Everyone wanted to touch the bunnies.
We talked about the bunny during circle.
 We examined the bunny...
 Touched the bunny...
 Observed the bunny!
We talked about the characteristics of the bunny.
I was hard touching the bunny in the cage.

So, Ms. Eli got a box, we put the bunny in it and then it was much easier to touch it!

Then Ms. Munne drew a bunny and wrote what we knew about it.
